Brunschwig & Fils - Cevennes Collection

While visiting Designers Walk with my designer wife last week, we came upon a number of truly beautiful textile collections at the Brunschwig & Fils showroom.

For me, one that really stood out was the Cevennes Collection. Designed to reflect and celebrate the rich French history that is so essential to the legacy of the Brunschwig & Fils brand; Cevennes transforms patterns that have been stored for years & years & years in the Brunschwig & Fils archives into new designs that speak of the past in a totally modern way.

FABRIANO COTTON AND LINEN PRINT
Dating back to the end of the 19th century, this design originated as a panel of taffeta brocaded with silk and silver metallic threads.

JOSSELIN COTTON AND LINEN PRINT
This design is taken from a beautiful French moire document from the 1800s, found in an archive in France, and depicts a fanciful winding nut tree.

GILLIAN S ZEBRAS LINEN & COTTON PRINT
A charming combination of porcelain vases of flowers and Staffordshire figures. Hand-drawn by an artist, this whimsical design is based on a unique discovery from an antique shop.

CHINESE LEOPARD TOILE
Originally a block-printed cotton fabric, this design features two vignettes of Chinoiserie scenes. This French document dates back to 1825 from the Musee Oberkampf at Jouy.

Brunschwig & Fils is one of Toronto’s premier sources of exclusive fabrics, wallpapers, trimmings, furniture and carpet.

Brunschwig & Fils showrooms can be found in the Castlefield Design District at 117 Tycos Drive and in Mississauga at 3600 B Laird Road Suite 6.
