5 Home Decor Ideas to Spruce Up Your Home in 2019
It may be the middle of 2019 now but it is never too late to update the look of your home. Redecorating will give your interiors a fresh look and this will also help you get ready for the new season. If you are ready to redecorate, here are some great ideas you can try.
They are in for 2019 and will give your home that updated feeling that you’ll surely enjoy in the upcoming months.
Go for Sustainable Decor
The awareness for sustainability and environment protection continues to grow around the world. Now is the time to move away from plastic and other products that are not biodegradable. Embrace environment-friendly home furnishings and do your part to save the earth and respect nature.
This does not mean, however, that you cannot embrace the artistry of eclectism in your own home. You can still have those unique decor pieces that showcase your character and make you happy. Just make sure not to overdo things. You want to have a pop of interesting decor items here and there, but always avoid clutter.
This is especially true if you live in a small space like a studio unit condo. You have to be more mindful not to fill that limited area with so many things. Otherwise, your home space would feel too much and won’t provide you that comfort you need.
By the way, speaking of condominiums, you might want to check out Precondo. You will find a wide range of condo listings here. Who knows, you might just find your next home!
Update the Lighting
A dark and dreary room is never a good idea no matter what year it is. So, go through the important rooms in your house and see whichIn line with this, you have to be strategic in your purchases. Carefully assess the materials used for any decorative item you plan to purchase. It is ideal as well to go for pieces that can be timeless or can last a long time and versatile. This way, you can redecorate once more in the future but you do not have to throw away or waste these items.
Be wise in where you buy your decor products, too. Go to shops that sell sustainable furniture pieces and accessories. Aim to purchase items that have been created and sourced within the fair trade guidelines.
Eclectic and Minimalist Mix
In the past few years, interior design professionals have championed the beauty and practical benefits of minimalism. This year, reduction and repurposing are still in. It is advisable to get rid of the clutter in order to have an airy and comfortable space.
When it comes to lighting, there are obviously various things to consider. But on the whole, focus on both functionality and aesthetics. It is also great to use multiple light sources. This means you shouldn’t limit yourself to overhead lamps or stand lamps only. See if spotlights, wall lamps, pendant lamps, recessed lights, etc. can be more useful.
In keeping with sustainability, it is imperative to choose bulbs wisely. Select environment-friendly and energy-efficient bulbs. The earth will benefit and so will your budget.
Select Bold Art
Yes, minimalism is still in but you don’t have to go for a totally minimalist interior design that will end up feeling harsh or austere. The idea here is to achieve a balance between uncluttered and personality.
One way to achieve that is to put up for bold or even eccentric art on your walls. Don’t go overboard. One or two statement pieces will do. An alternative is to have a bit of understated art that are encased in wow-inducing frames.
You can also choose bold patterns when it comes to wallpaper. Again, do not overdo this. Have one feature wall that catches the eye but leave the rest of a room in minimalistic beauty.
Four-Poster Bed for Better Bedroom Comfort
Four-poster beds are in 2019. It’s all about comfort and safety. Once you have a four-poster bed, it will be hard to go back to being without it. This type of bed just provides that amazing welcoming feeling.
Imagine getting home from a busy day with a very warm and comfy bed waiting for you to relax in. You can already feel the tension leaving your body, right? Add to that fluffy pillows and soft blankets and it can feel like heaven!
Aside from all of that, a four-poster bed is a great structural element that can take a room from basic to wonderful. You don’t even have to choose an intricately designed four-poster bed. One with a minimalist design will do nicely.
